The Master of Education (Teaching of Malay as a First Language) (MPPBMP) is a program offered at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program is open to graduate teachers, in-service teachers, and education officials.
Admission requirements
- A bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 in Malay Language and Linguistics from a recognized university
- Applicants with a CGPA below 2.75 may be considered if they have at least one year of relevant work experience
- Applicants without qualifications in Malay Language and Linguistics may be considered for provisional admission if they have a CGPA of 3.00
Program goals
- Master the principles of language analysis and linguistic theories
- Understand the principles of language curriculum development and how they are applied to Malay Language teaching
- Understand and identify the types of research in Malay Language education
- Master the skills of holistic problem solving and inter-discipline teaching of Malay Language education
