PROGRAMME OUTLINE
This APU Foundation in Computing (ODL) is specifically designed to provide:
- The Foundation in Computing (ODL) allows young students the opportunity to gain a solid Pre-University qualification from the comforts of their home or country.
- Open Distance Learning (ODL) as practiced at APU provides a high-quality and flexible learning experience for students utilising state-of-the-art technological innovations & pioneering teaching and learning practices.
- This flexibility is also an ideal option for families who wish for their children to obtain an innovative and high quality education yet remain connected to their communities of origin.
Semester 1 offers modules where students are introduced to the main skills areas of Language, Communication, Personal Skills, Numerical and IT Skills. Students are able to develop their soft skills that are essential for oral and written presentations of ideas and concepts as well as other skills which are essential for employability and lifelong learning.

The second semester exposes students further into the concepts of technology and principles of programming. With this knowledge, students are able to design and implement software solutions irrespective of platforms, language or application domain. Basic concepts of organization and its role will also be introduced, and their interpersonal skills will be further developed through public speaking.

The final semester provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in areas of multimedia and technology which helps students to make an informed decision on their pathway in the area of study. Their mathematical knowledge and skills will be extended in this semester to prepare for degree study. Students will also have an opportunity to explore academic research, equipped with the necessary skills and techniques.
