About This Programme

The Bachelor of Science (Food Technology) with Honours is a minimum 4-year full time programme (8 semesters) under the Department of Technology and Natural Resources supervision with 128 total credits offered comprises both core and elective courses.

This programme own approach in accordance to the concept of outcome based education including experiential learning, problem based learning, project oriented problem based learning, case study, lecture and practical.

The curriculum has been designed to adapt with current scenario and provide balance between the principles and food technology applications for teaching and learning.

This programme combines various and wide fundamental concepts including chemistry, physics, general biology and microbiology. Apart from that, this programme gives knowledge and understanding in improving and maintaining food quality, which covers the post-harvesting, processing, engineering, preservation, nutrition, sensory, safety, legislation, halal, packaging, waste management, product development and marketing that can be applied in the future careers with ethical manner in providing consumers with high quality, safe and nutritious food through technology and innovation.
