About This Programme
Internet of Things (IoT) presents when the world, humans and things are connected smoothly and securely through smart sensors and high-speed internet infrastructure. Data can be collected, transformed, analyzed into beneficial information that can interact directly with the environment, provide feedbacks, and can be used in a variety of applications, including smart cities, industrial internet of things (IIoT), smart grids, smart homes and buildings, smart infrastructure, smart agriculture, smart health, and smart mobility. Therefore, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is proactive in creating this academic program, namely the Master of Science in Internet of Things (MET).
The program is open to all graduates from electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, civil and environmental engineering, technical and vocational education, technology management and business, applied science and technology, computer science and information technology, and engineering technology. Topics will be discussed and highlighted throughout the program include Introductions to IoT, IoT Devices and Applications, Networks and Communications in IoT, Smart Sensors and Embedded Systems, Data Management and Application, as well as several engineering, science and technology specialization courses. The standard duration of the program is two (2) semesters plus one (1) short semester, which is equivalent to 1 year of study, with 43 credit hours for the graduation purpose.
University is aim to create a competent, skilled and competitive graduate in the field of IoT to meet the needs of industry at the national and international levels, which can adapt generic skills holistically as the practice of professional engineers and perform ethical and loyal work the global community.
The program structure consists of 43 credits to be completed; which are 19 credit hours of core program courses, 12 credit hours of elective courses and 12 credit hours of master projects, which require active involvement in lecture and laboratory activities, blended learning (BL) and full online classroom (FOC).
Duration : Full time – One (1) year. Intake in October and March
